The Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens is a restoration project to honor the work of famed lilac developer Hulda Klager. It contains an 1800s house, surrounding buildings and is a National Historic Site. Visit the house, museum/barn with many new exhibits only open during Lilac Days and other specialty days. Annually, Lilac Days celebrates the site, Hulda’s work and raises funds to maintain the site. Event rentals are available as approved, by contacting us.

Summer & Fall 2026 (May 11th to early October, 2026), the gardens are open 9am to 4pm (gates close 3:30pm). Members get in free! The house and museum are CLOSED, but for groups, reservations can be arranged in advance. Admission fees for 2026 are $10 adults, card or CASH payable at the front gate in Dropbox. Children 12 years old and under enter free when accompanied by an adult. *Please see the Calendar at our website for current hours and closures. Note: the Gardens are Closed on Holidays and a few other select days.

LILAC DAYS 2027 – During Lilac Days 2027 the gardens will be open daily 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. House will be open 1pm to 4pm (groups of 15, every 15 minutes), but only during Lilac Days and other special events. Admission $10 adults, kids 12 and under free (cash and card accepted at the gate.) Upcoming 2027 Senior Citizen Days are Mondays are Senior Day (age 62 and older) admission $5. April 28th Military Day (free with ID).

Visit the historic Klager farmhouse (daily tours beginning at 1:00-4:00pm, every 15-20 minutes in groups of 15) and visit the barn/museum where photos and memorabilia of Hulda Klager and her family are on display. Raffle quilt fundraiser tickets will be available for purchase. The annual plant sale with lilacs and the gift shop with lilac themed items will also be open daily. Plants ranging from small 4” starts to 1, 2 & 5 gallon sizes in many varieties. Come stroll through the gardens and enjoy all the lilacs, plants and history!

More info at Lilac Days page. There are picnic tables and benches throughout the garden for use by guests. You may bring in a picnic to enjoy in the gardens (no bbq’s please). The grounds and museum are handicap accessible. Pets are not allowed in the garden.
